Viola Maccarone Obituary

Viola (Rizzo) Maccarone, 89, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, November 20, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Albert Maccarone, Sr., celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary this past July 4th. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni A. and Emilia (DiLibero) Rizzo. Viola has lived in Johnston since 1961 and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a bookkeeper with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of RI for 35 years before retiring in 1993.
In addition to her husband, she was the loving mother of Albert Maccarone, Jr. and Jean M. Heiss both of Johnston. She was the sister of Lillian Mollo of Smithfield and the late Gilda Rizzo and Anna Gargaro. Viola was the devoted grandmother of Albert, Rebecca and Daniel Maccarone, John and Matthew (Karen) Heiss.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 8:30am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44) Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Friday, November 23, 2018 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 will be appreciated.
