James J. Egan Obituary

James J. Egan, 94, passed away at home Monday, May 28, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Madeline A. (Boland) Egan and a son of the late James J. and M. Agnes (Carmel) Egan. Mr. Egan was a WWII Army veteran. He was an elementary school teacher in North Providence for 32 years before retiring. He was a 1941 graduate of LaSalle Academy and a 1948 graduate of Providence College.
In addition to his wife Madeline, he was the father of James J. Egan, John A. Egan and Mary A. Pietrantozzi. Grandfather of Alexandra, Anastasia, Catherine, Hollie, Patrick and Sarah Egan, Emily, Nicholas and Rachael Pietrantozzi. Great-grandfather of Armani and Julian. He was the brother of the late Barbara M. Nolan, Raymond L. Egan, Austin P. Egan, Dorothy A. Alexander and Joan C. Holt.
His funeral will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 8:45 am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44), Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation Friday June 1, 2018 from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent dePaul Society at St. Pius V Church, 55 Elmhurst Ave., Providence, RI 02908 will be appreciated.
