Gladys L. (Keach) Kemp, 84, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Stephen M. Kemp, Jr. Born in Scituate she was a daughter of the late Francis and Edith Keach. Mrs. Kemp was a bookkeeper for over 40 years for the former Kalunians Five & Dime in Olneyville and for Adler Brothers Construction in Smithfield before retiring. She has been a Greenville resident since 1971, a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and a Past Worthy Matron for the Philia Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, she was the mother of Stephen M. Kemp, III and his wife Betty Jo of Newnan, GA and Darrell F. Kemp and his wife Vicki of Barstow, CA. She was the sister of Francis Keach, Beverly Shippee and Gail Safran. Mrs. Kemp is also survived by her grandchildren, Crystal L. Kemp, Kinsey L. Kemp, Dakota Kemp and 2 great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, her funeral and burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 505
