Obituary

David C. Healey, 71, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 1, 2018 at home. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn A. (Brennan) Healey for 45 years. Born in Brookline, MA, he was the son of the late Timothy and Mildred (Gardocki) Healey and had been a resident of Edgewood for many years. Mr. Healey was a math teacher in the Warwick School Department for 30 years before retiring in 2001. He served his country honorably in the Rhode Island National Guard for 6 years. He was a graduate of La Salle Academy, RI College, and Providence College. Mr. Healey was a member of the American Federation of Teachers, a communicant of St. Paul Church, a coach for the Edgewood South Elmwood Little League, and a coach for the CLCF Youth Hockey. He was an avid New England sports fan and he loved watching the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins, and Celtics. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dr. Terrance T. Healey and his wife Christy, and Daniel D. Healey and his wife Jenny; one sister, Kathleen A. Healey; 8 grandchildren, Shannon, Braden, Cameron, Elizabeth, Justin, Amelia, Olivia, and Evelyn; one nephew, Ross Desrosiers, and one niece, Alyssa Brennan.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 8:45 AM from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul Church, 1 St. Paul Place, Edgewood at 10 AM. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Paul Church, 1 St. Paul Place, Cranston, RI 02920 will be appreciated.
