Obituary
Donald A. Tucker, 90, of Smithfield, died at home, on Friday, January 22, 2021, in the care of his family and Hospice.
Don was born in Pascoag to Albert L. and Doris M. (Stevenson) Tucker. He was raised in the village of Harmony and lived his life in Smithfield.
He served in the Rhode Island National Guard during the Korean War, deployed to Germany.
On his return, he was employed by Worcester Textile, as a second-floor supervisor, for 26 years; then 13 years, in the maintenance department, for AT Cross.
An accomplished woodworker, he enjoyed making furniture in his shop. He was an avid antiques collector, indulging that pleasure, during his travels, with his wife, Lorraine. Don was also a founding member of the Glocester Senior Center.
Don is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Champagne) Tucker, of 35 years; his children Lynne, Keith, Timothy and Shawn Tucker, and Debra Geary; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his granddaughter Danielle Tucker.
At Don’s request, no service will be held. Family and friends will be notified, regarding a memorial collation, at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Continuum Care Hospice Foundation or Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
