Obituary
Giuseppe Scorpio, 81, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Milano) Scorpio. Born in Vairano Patenora, Caserta, Italy, he was a son of the late Mario and Elisabetta (Zaccaria) Scorpio. Mr. Scorpio was a self-employed stone mason and the owner of the former Masonry of Italy before moving to Florida and helping found Scorpio’s Italian Eatery & Pizzeria. He will always be known for his strong work ethic and bravery for taking his young family to America from Italy. After initially settling in Providence, he lived in the Knightsville section of Cranston for 13 years before moving to Florida in 1986. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 6584 and was a fabulous dancer winning many competitions with his sister. Mr. Scorpio will be remembered as a pied piper of children. All of his grandchildren, nieces and nephews adored him. He spent his time with them swimming, fishing, boating, or simply enjoying a meal with them that he and his beloved wife of 57 years prepared together.
In addition to his wife Maria, he was the father of Elisabetta Costantini (John) of North Attleboro, MA, Mario Scorpio (Pam) of Ormond Beach, Fl, Giovanni Scorpio of Deltona, FL, Domenico Scorpio (Holly) of Gainesville, FL, Carlo Scorpio of Oviedo, FL, Vincenzo Scorpio (Melissa) of Deland, FL, Giuseppe Scorpio (Catherine) of Cumberland, RI and the late Beatrice Scorpio. He was the brother of Angelina DiZoglio and the late Raffaelle Scorpio, Armando Scorpio, Francesco Scorpio, and Achille Scorpio. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren.
Due to Covid restrictions, his funeral and burial will be private.
